| Following on from their sell-out concert earlier this year, ‘Travelling People’ will be making a return to Abbot House to perform a ‘St Andrews Night Concert’ in the Long Gallery. The Travelling People were formed mid 1960`s and folk fans will remember their performances at the Howf Dunfermline, The Elbow Room Kirkcaldy, Queen`s Hotel Elie, Glenrothes Folk Club Golden Acorn, Leonard Hotel and Greenmount in Burntisland. In addition to this they travelled all over Scotland. Forty years on the band members are Murray Wilson Guitar & vocals, Roy Bayne 5 string banjo, fiddle mandolin and dobro and vocals, Jack Chalmers electronic pipes, whistle and vocals, Ian Miller, accordion, mandolin, guitar and vocals, Len Woods, Bodhran, vocals and stories. The band sings and plays a selection of Scots, Irish and American folk songs and a bit of bluegrass and swing thrown in for good measure. Interspersed with stories and songs you love but never hear now, a great evening awaits the audience in the unique and atmospheric setting of the Long Gallery in Abbot House.
