Culross Abbey Concert

Dysart Colliery Silver Band, who celebrated its 130th anniversary this year returns to play in Culross Abbey, on Fri 18th June 2010.
Dysart Colliery Silver Band, who celebrated its 130th anniversary this year returns to play in Culross Abbey, this Friday, 18th and the concert will run from 7.30pm to 9pm. Tickets cost £5 and can be paid at the door.

The band was formed in 1880 and was known as Dysart Town Band in the early days and it became associated with the Randolph, Frances and Lady Blanche Collieries when the Earl of Roslyn sold out to the Fife Coal Company in 1923.

Today, the members of the band are aged between 12 and 91 years old and it continues to grow in strength and popularity.

Live brass music is proving to be increasingly popular among adults and children alike, so come along on Friday to Culross Abbey to be entertained.
